Sing With Us

We Welcome New Members

The Chichester Singers is one of the south’s most prominent amateur choirs with about 140 singing members, performing a broad range of music from the great choral classics to contemporary works. We enjoy the musical leadership of one of UK’s most prominent choral conductors, Jonathan Willcocks, and our accompanist is Sue Graham Smith.

For many years we have enjoyed a close working relationship with Southern Pro Musica – one of the south’s leading professional orchestras – and the choir engages soloists of national and international reputation – including in the past such luminaries as Dame Janet Baker, Catherine Wyn-Rogers, Sir Willard White, Simon Keenleyside, Allan Clayton and James Oxley.

We usually perform four concerts a year in Chichester Cathedral, and approximately every three years we travel within Europe and give concerts in local cathedrals or churches.

We encourage prospective members to come and sing in a few rehearsals with us before applying for audition. In these auditions, we look for a good (but not necessarily trained) voice, reasonable sight-reading and lots of enthusiasm for choral music.

We have a commitment to perform to a consistent high standard and to achieve this, regular rehearsal attendance is essential. Do contact our Membership Secretary, Wendy Bray for full details. You can do that via our contact page!

The Chichester Singers rehearse 7 – 9pm on Wednesday evenings during term time at the Chichester High School, Kingsham Road, PO19 8EB and always welcomes new singers.
